Many chain shoe stores and online vendors have return policies that specify the shoes must be unworn and in the original packaging. That means that you should only wear them indoors on clean surfaces for a few days before deciding to return them. If they appear to be worn, you may not get a refund or exchange.
Affix the return label to the outside of the box. Return your package through the carrier of your choice. Please note: Customers are responsible for the safe return of merchandise. Worn shoes are not returnable.
Returned/exchanged merchandise must be unworn and in new condition with the original tags. Exchanged items must be returned in the original boxes and bags and must include all the original hang-tags.
You can return any unwanted item(s) to a Boots store within 35 days of receiving your order for a refund or replacement free of charge. We can only replace like for like item(s). Customer Returns and Refunds Under Federal Law
While many retailers have decided this makes for the best business practice, they aren't legally required to accept returns. Rather, retailers are required to accept returns only if the sold good is defective or if they otherwise break the sales contract.
It depends on the store's return policy. Some stores allow customers to return shoes that don't fit within a certain time frame, usually with a receipt and in unworn condition. However, other stores may have more strict policies and may not allow returns or exchanges on footwear.
Falling apart at the seams.
Sometimes even a seemingly perfect-looking pair of boots may need to be replaced. Whether it is sore feet, cramps or blisters, these are all signs your boots may be worn.
How do shoe stores know if the shoes never worn outside to be eligible for a return/exchange? You can tell by looking at the outsole, and sometimes the midsole. Pavement is rough in texture and will take the shine and sharp edges off a new pair of shoes' outsoles very quickly. Dirt will soil them visibly.
How do you wear shoes and then return them?
The trick involves masking the soles of shoes with painter's tape for short-term wear, so buyers can return them, get a refund and keep the photos and videos they captured during their at-home or studio production.
How do shoe stores get rid of returned shoes that are still brand new and have never been worn before? First, they put them on sale. Any left they will sell at their outlet stores, if they have them. After that any remaining they will sell in bulk to off price stores like T.J.
DSW will gladly accept returns of most unworn, undamaged or defective merchandise for a refund or exchange.
