TQQQ is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) that aims to track the performance of the NASDAQ-100 Index, a benchmark consisting of the 100 largest non-financial companies listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange. TQQQ is managed by ProShares, a provider of ETFs that focus on alternative and leveraged investment strategies.
A key feature of TQQQ is its leveraged exposure to the NASDAQ-100 Index, which means that it aims to provide investors with returns that are three times (300%) the daily performance of the index. That is achieved through the use of financial instruments such as futures contracts and options. As a result, TQQQ may not be suitable for investors with a low-risk tolerance or a buy-and-hold investment strategy.
TQQQ was launched on February 9, 2010, with an expense ratio of 0.95%. This expense ratio is higher than some other ETFs and mutual funds.
