MagicSeaweed was acquired along with Stab Magazine on 22nd May 2015 for a combined total cash consideration of AUD$13.8 million and 4.8 million shares in SurfStitch.

Global surf forecasting firm Magic Seaweed (MSW) has announced it is losing its name as it merges with California-based Surfline. MSW, which was created in Kingsbridge, south Devon in 2002, was bought by Surfline in 2017.

MagicSeaweed has surf reports for over 5,000 beaches and point breaks around the world. MagicSeaweed rates each day of surf by a star rating system. Five stars means it will be epic and 1 star means it will be very poor. This site does have live surf cams, but not as many as Surfline.

The Magicseaweed app provides surf forecasts for users based on their location and desired information. The forecast includes the best beach to go at, how big the waves are (height), what time of day is good for surfing, wind speeds in different directions, etc.
