Billionaires Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk are known for their business rivalry in the space exploration business. Despite their rivalry and being criticised by Tesla chief Elon Musk in the past, Amazon founder Jeffo Bezos, in a recent podcast, said that he would “love the idea” of friendship with Elon Musk.
Jeff Bezos, on December 14, in an interview with the podcaster Lex Fridman said that he and Musk are “like-minded”. As reported by the New York Post, during the discussion over his equation with Tesla’s Elon Musk, Bezos said, “Well, I don’t really know Elon very well.”

"I I know his public persona but I also know that you cannot know anyone by their public persona, it’s impossible,” he added.
Despite being criticised by Elon Musk in the past and their rivalry in the space exploration segment,
Bezos praised Musk’s control over various companies, including the electric car manufacturing giant Tesla and space exploration company SpaceX. Bezos said in the podcast, “Judging by the results, Musk must be a very capable leader. There’s no way you can have Tesla and SpaceX without being a capable one. It’s impossible.”
The host of the podcast, Fridman suggested during the discussion that the two men should spend time together and begin a “friendship that would inspire the entirety of humanity”. Bezos replied, “I agree with you and I think with a lot of these endeavours we’re very like-minded.”
He added, “So, I think, I’m not saying we’re identical, but we’re very like-minded so I love that idea.”
However, the Bezos-Musk rivalry over the space race is known to all. Previously, Musk has also taken a dig at Bezos while calling him a “copycat” and mocking his spaceship, to which Bezos countered with subtle digs and congratulated on SpaceX’s milestones.
Currently, Bezos is preparing to launch Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket for the first time. According to the company, it is targeting the launch window on December 18. The New Shepard, or NS-24, launch is going to be a cargo mission, which will be carrying research and scientific payloads with it. According to a CNBC report, the mission will be marking the suborbital rocket’s return to flight.
According to reports, the New Shepard rocket will be launching from Blue Origin’s private facility in West Texas while carrying people and payloads above 100 km. To date, Blue Origin has flown 31 people through the edge of space with New Shepard.
